Community groups ...
It is not always possible to get to know everybody in a deep
and meaningful way. However, the Bible is clear that Christians
need to grow in their faith, serve one another and reach out to
those who don't know God.
We believe the best way to encourage this to happen in a large church
is via small groups which meet together regularly, usually weekly
in people's homes.
We call these group "Community groups" and this reflects the
fact that, meeting together is important, and that we want to see
friendships and relationships develop that affect the whole of our
lives and our communities.
Community group meetings are intended to be informal relaxed
times together and usually include:
Worship with opportunity for everyone to take part, as the Spirit leads
Prayer for the needs of people in the group and those of family, friends or work colleagues who
need to see God's power at work in their lives
Bible teaching particularly in applying the truths and principles of the scriptures to our everyday lives
Fun! including meals together and social events to which friend and neighbours can be invited
The emphasis is on developing a sense of caring for one another and building genuine friendships.
It is in this context that we seek to grow wholehearted as followers of Jesus, by loving Him more passionately, serving one another practically and reaching out to lost people with the good news of salvation.
Community groups meet in and around the Braintree District, and we are happy for people to visit them to get a taste of what it is like to be part of our wider church family. If you would like to do this speak to one of the community group leaders or one of the leadership team, ask at the welcome desk on Sunday's or contact us via the contact page on this site for more details.
