Discipleship ...

Jesus calls us to 'go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything he has commanded' (Matt. 28:19-20). Our response to this great commission must therefore be reflected at the very heart of church life.

At KCCB, our vision is not just to invite people to become Christians and to join us, but to bring them to maturity in Christ. We believe that making disciples means seeing them baptised in water and in the Holy Spirit, equipping them in truth and in the power of the Spirit, in order that each one can fulfil God's plan for their lives.

We want people to know that God has forgiven and accepted them solely because of what Jesus has done for them on the cross. People who are certain of eternal life, getting to know Jesus better every day, experiencing His guidance, living for His glory, enjoying their involvement in His church and keen to reach out to others with the good news of the Gospel.

To achieve this, we encourage people to join an Alpha Course, regularly participate in Sunday morning worship, and become a participatory member by joining us at prayer and midweek community group meetings. There are also opportunities to get involved through serving in the church in one of many areas where they can bless the community.

We would encourage everyone to do the Vision and Values Course, as this is specifically designed to help people to get to know our vision, beliefs and values, and also help them to grow as Christians and to engage in personal discipleship and accountability.
