Our Beliefs ...

What we believe about:

GOD - We believe there is one God who exists as three distinct but equal persons - the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. God is eternal and will never change in his holiness, wisdom, justice and love. He is the almighty creator who created and sustains all things, rules and reigns over the universe and will judge every person according to how we have lived our lives.

JESUS - The Lord Jesus Christ is God's one and only Son, who came to help us get right with God. Each of us has done wrong: Jesus took the punishment we deserve for the wrong we have done by dying on the cross. Through belief in Jesus' death and resurrection we can be forgiven and accepted by God. Jesus is alive today and makes a real difference in our lives.

THE HOLY SPIRIT - The Holy Spirit was sent from heaven to bring glory to Jesus and make Him known. The Spirit helps us to understand what Jesus has done to rescue us from sin.

Once we are Christians, he helps us to understand the Bible, brings assurance of our salvation and makes us more like Christ in our daily lives. We believe he builds up the church by giving us spiritual gifts such as prophecy and tongues. The Spirit helps us to worship God from our hearts and reach out to serve other people who may not yet know Jesus as their Saviour.

THE BIBLE - We believe the Bible is God's written word and is our final authority for matters of faith and lifestyle.

THE CHURCH - We believe the Church is God's people, brought together by Him to enjoy life with Him, and to tell other people about Him. The Church is not about brick buildings. We believe that Church life should be vibrant, exciting and provide a caring environment in which people of all ages and backgrounds grow in their love for God and one another.

MANKIND - We believe mankind was created in the image of God to enjoy good relationship with Him. When sin entered the world our relationship with God was spoiled. This means that every human being is separated from God, but God loves men and women so much that he provided a wonderful way to bring us back to know Him and to restore our relationship with Him.

ETERNITY - We believe the bible tells us that eternity is a reality - there is life after death. For those in this life who have trusted in Jesus for forgiveness from their sins, and for a new life with God, there is the promise of life with God forever (heaven); for those who have not, there will be eternal separation from God (Hell).

Often referred to as the eye of God.

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Genesis 1:1

Do you not know? Have you not heard? The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.  Isaiah 40:28-31

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. In him was life, and that life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, but the darkness has not understood it.

There came a man who was sent from God; his name was John. He came as a witness to testify concerning that light, so that through him all men might believe. He himself was not the light; he came only as a witness to the light. The true light that gives light to every man was coming into the world.

He was in the world, and though the world was made through him, the world did not recognize him. He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him. Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God — children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband's will, but born of God.

The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth. John 1:1-14
